Curriculum
Posture
Children will understand the importance of maintaining good posture and learn to avoid posture problems. They will demonstrate control of their body to support proper posture.
Sense of Belonging
Children will identify and express a sense of identity and belonging in different groups and settings, such as family or culture, where they feel safe, loved, and accepted. They will begin to communicate their connections to these groups in various ways, such as through personal stories.
Responsible decision making
Children will understand that their actions have consequences for their own and others' well-being. They will develop the ability to make responsible and constructive choices for themselves and those around them by evaluating situations and considering ethical standards, safety concerns, and social norms.
The Present Moment
Children will understand the concept of the "present moment" as a coping strategy to manage emotions and be able to differentiate it from the past and future. They will practice using their senses to notice and describe the present moment.
Sports
Children will understand that sports are for having fun, building social skills, and developing basic physical abilities, with the focus on enjoyment and growth rather than competition or advanced skill development.
Breathing
Children will explore how appropriate breathing techniques can assist in relaxation and help regulate emotions, such as when they are angry or frustrated.
Safety
Children will demonstrate safety awareness by making safe choices in daily activities, assessing risks, and distinguishing between safe and unsafe behaviors. They will accept adult guidance and respond appropriately in unsafe situations.
